Charles “Andrew” Tharp is a skilled litigation attorney with extensive experience in both state and federal courts. For more than thirty years, he has represented various insurance companies and their insureds throughout the state of Florida, including the successful defense of claims and cases involving multi-million dollar losses.
Mr. Tharp concentrates his practice on personal injury and insurance litigation, with a particular focus on first-party property coverage, including lender-placed coverage, and legal malpractice claims. His additional areas of practice include insurance coverage, construction litigation, insurance agents and brokers malpractice, accounting malpractice, creditors’ rights, product liability claims, and general liability claims.
He has also participated in hundreds of successful mediations, as well as the arbitration of matters through the American Arbitration Association.
Mr. Tharp has attained an “AV” rating from Martindale-Hubbell® Client Review and has been named to Florida’s Super Lawyers (2018–2022) and Florida Trend’s Legal Elite (2016).
His Continuing Legal Education courses include presentations and participation through the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance’s Annual Conference, Hillsborough County Bar Association, Lee County Bar Association, Broward County Bar Association, Broward County Bench & Bar Conference, and various client roundtable presentations for insurance adjusters.
Mr. Tharp has also been approved by the Florida Department of Financial Services to instruct insurance adjusters in continuing education.
